I am running a series of 1 to 1 tuition sessions at various locations in the North East. These will be directed at people who are new to photography. Feel free to get in touch if you have any queries or would like to try a different location or extend a session.
During the course of each session we will discuss camera settings for different situations, composition, equipment and editing.
To book a session please visit the "Photography Tuition" section, select the session you would like, select "Book session" and pay.
Please note – Prices are based on the understanding that we meet at the destination and that I cannot accept any liability for any loss or injury which may occur during the session.
Unfortunately, I am unable to predict the weather. If conditions are too bad for tuition (rain, excessive wind, etc) then we will reschedule. I do not offer returns due to bad weather.
The focus (excuse the pun) is on preparation for you to be confident that you can use your camera and capture whatever is in front of you. If we are lucky enough to have a blazing sunrise/sunset then that is a bonus.
If you do not turn up to a planned session then I do not offer returns.
I know every inch of the Quayside but I never got bored of it. The photographic opportunities change from day to day and I have been lucky enough to capture some amazing images in a variety of different conditions from fiery sunsets to epic lightning storms.
In this session we will spend 2-3 hours in and around the quayside. This is not set in stone, however, as we can also move up into the city should you wish.
Newcastle City Centre
The city centre is often neglected by photographers (including myself!) who tend to head for our iconic bridges. There are so many amazing photographic opportunities in the city and I have lost count of the times which I have walked the streets looking for images. From the majestic Grey Street to the Castle and Black Gate to St. James’ Park and the Central Arcade the city throws up some super scenes.
We will spend 2-3 hours within the city centre although there is the option to move to the quayside or other nearby locations if you choose (or if weather dictates).
People & Street
As you may already know, I like to have a human element in some of my images. I am not a fan of intrusive street photography and like to limit the recognisability of the people in my images.
We will spend 2-3 hours around the city and the quayside with the focus being on capturing that human element.
Our coast is littered with a myriad of amazing spots which just beg to be photographed. From castles and lighthouses to piers and harbours we have it all. Whether it is a sunrise or a sunset you can’t fail to be inspired.
We will spend 2-3 hours on the North Tyneside coast.
Other coastal locations can be visited by arrangement.
